Catch It: Sambuca: Southern Italian Restaurant

When I walked with the sun, the springtime weather in Central Park on Sunday, April 21st, I saw people sitting on the grass reading, families and friends spread out with blankets, picnic baskets, children running around, parents running after them—it felt like summer, but it was a day of springtime fun.

After my four mile stroll, I exited at 72nd Street and Central Park West, guiding my Rockport sneakers to the grocery store, until I came upon Sambuca Restaurant (20 West 72nd Street, New York, NY 10023). I popped in and thought, “This would be a perfect place for Sky’s engagement party. It has a Wine Bar; bright tables to accommodate her guest list of 30; a garden in the back for drinks, or just to sit pretty with a special someone.”

I glanced at the menu and read: “Best Southern Italian Food for 25 years.” I thanked the manager, Mr. Syed for showing me around, and later telephoned Sky, while waiting in a long line at the supermarket store.
