Last Sunday, my friend Kristen and I were walking in Central Park. We passed our four-mile goal, and she talked about what to buy her husband for Father’s Day. She decided to venture into Nordstrom. However, on our way, there was a long line at Venchi Chocolate at Columbus Circle, and I overheard a father tell his son, “Let’s get ice cream,” and his son said, “Yay, can I have two cups, Dad?”

Although the line was long, I told Kristen how much I love Venchi raspberry gelato, and we waited. Kristen ordered pineapple and coconut gelato, and we sat outside enjoying our delicious gelato in a cup while the line grew. Fifteen minutes later, we walked to Nordstrom’s Men’s store on 57th Street. 

Then suddenly, Kristen said, “I should go back to Venchi; they have an ice cream “sale” on Father’s Day.

So, we went back.
